I'm a caregiver. How do I manage a member's care?

If you help someone else with their health care (for example, an elderly parent), here's how to set things up.

Is the person on your family plan?

The family plan covers your spouse and children under 26 living in your household. If that's who you care for, add them to your family plan and manage their profile from your account. See How do I add a family member?

Caring for someone else, such as a parent

The person you care for needs their own GoldCare membership:

  1. Create their account with their details.
  2. Make sure they have signed the PMA agreement before booking any appointments.

Joining or speaking for them in a visit

To join a visit or act on someone else's behalf, a medical Power of Attorney is required.

  • The member uploads a copy of the Power of Attorney to their GoldCare account.
  • Without a Power of Attorney, each person needs to use their own account for their own visits.
