If you help someone else with their health care (for example, an elderly parent), here's how to set things up.

## Is the person on your family plan?

The family plan covers your **spouse** and **children under 26** living in your household. If that's who you care for, add them to your family plan and manage their profile from your account. See [How do I add a family member?](https://chatwoot-web-production-8008.up.railway.app/hc/goldcare/articles/how-to-add-family-member)

## Caring for someone else, such as a parent

The person you care for needs **their own GoldCare membership**:

1. **Create their account** with their details.
2. Make sure they have **signed the PMA agreement** before booking any appointments.

## Joining or speaking for them in a visit

To join a visit or act on someone else's behalf, a **medical Power of Attorney** is required.

- The member uploads a copy of the Power of Attorney to **their GoldCare account**.
- Without a Power of Attorney, each person needs to use their own account for their own visits.
